Read the following:-
1. From the Registrar General and Census Commissioner, Government
of India, D.O. Lr. No.9/34/2019-CD (CEN) dated 27.09.2019.
2. From the Joint Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Andhra
Pradesh, Lr. No. 6962/AP/Census-2021/2018 dated 16.10.2019.
O R D E R:-
The following Notification shall be published in the extra-ordinary issue
of Andhra Pradesh Gazette:
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (2) of Section
(4) of the Census Act, 1948 (Act 37 of 1948), the Government of
Andhra Pradesh hereby appoint the Officers noted in column (2) of the
Table below as Census Officers with the designation shown against
each in column (3) thereof, to take, or aid in, or supervise the taking
of, the Census of India 2021 within their respective jurisdiction
mentioned against each in column (4) of the table given below.
2. In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 4 of
the said Act, the Governor is further pleased to delegate to the Officers
noted of Column (2) of the above Table, the power of appointing census
officers within their respective jurisdictions.
3. As per the provisions of Section 11 of the Census Act 1948,
any Census-officer or any person lawfully required to give
assistance towards the taking of census and who refuses to perform any
duty allotted to him/her under this Act or any rule made there under, or
any person who hinders or obstructs another person in performing any
such duty, shall be punishable with fine up to one thousand rupees and
in case of a conviction shall also be punishable with imprisonment which
may extend to three years.
