O R D E R:-

The appended Notification will be published in an Extra-Ordinary
Issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated 03-07-2019.

Vijayawada is re quested to furnish 2000 copies of the Gazette containing
the Notification to the Government.

NOTIFICATION

Whereas, the term of Members, the President and Vice-President
of the Mandal Praja Parishads elected in the State in accordance with
the provisions of clause (ii) of section 154 of the Andhra Pradesh
Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Act 13 of 1994) will expire on 03-07-2019.
2. And whereas, under sub-section(1) of section 250-A of the Andhra
Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 amended subsequently, the
Government, or as the case may be, an officer authorized by the
Government shall appoint a Special Officer or a Person-in-charge or a
Committee of persons-in-charge to a Mandal Praja Parishad, to exercise
the powers, discharge the duties and perform the functions of the
Mandal Praja Parishad until the elected Members, the President and
Vice- President of Mandal Praja Parishad assume office.
3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section
(1) of section 250-A of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994
amended subsequently, the Government hereby authorize the concerned
Collector and District Magistrate to appoint an officer from the District
Level Officers, Deputy Directors, Revenue Divisional Officers and other
Officers from the District (excluding the Engineers), who are atleast one
rank above the Mandal Parishad Development Officer as Special Officer
to the Mandal Praja Parishad in their jurisdiction with effect from
04-07-2019 for a period of six months from the date of appointment or
till the date of assumption of office, of the Members and office bearers of
Mandal Praja Parishad elected in accordance with due process,
whichever is earlier.

4. Further, in respect of elected Members, the President and Vice-
President of the Mandal Praja Parishads whose term will expire after

04-07-2019, the concerned Collector and District Magistrate is
authorized to appoint in due course the Special Officer in the manner as
mentioned at para (3) above to the Mandal Praja Parishad, if elections are
not held by that day, for a period of six months from the date of
appointment or till the date of assumption of office, of the Members and
office bearers of Mandal Praja Parishad elected in accordance with due
process, whichever is earlier.
